Where Can I Find Fresh Ideas for Essay Topics

The student can find fresh topics for essays almost anywhere. Current events are a good place to look. New events occur on a daily basis around the world that affect us, our families, and our friends. Topics frequently come up in class when the student has unanswered questions. Topics can come from the reading we do for our coursework, or from reading outside of the classroom. We can glean topics from the school’s and the department’s websites. There is usually detailed information there that is germane to the course(s) being taken.

The student can gather books and reference materials and review, read, and study them in order to determine his interest area. From this reading he can identify key concepts, key thoughts, and key words that will help him zoom in on the topics that interest him.

It is important that the student realize that he has a bias. No matter how objective he tries to be, he was born into and raised into a certain culture, a certain geographical area, and in a certain lifestyle. Once the student identifies his bias, he needs to establish it.

Below are some essay topics. The student can change the theme of the topic, turn it to a subject that applies to him or his life, or the lives of his family or friends, or modify it in any way that he chooses to freshen up the subject.
